Douglas Stafford Wins Top Award

Douglas Stafford won a prestigious award at Car Dealer magazine’s Power Awards last week.

The company scooped the Special Achievement Award, which was voted on by more than 1,000 car dealers and highlighted the best motor trade suppliers to do business with.

The prize was presented at a glittering black-tie awards ceremony which took place at the top of Portsmouth’s landmark Spinnaker Tower.

“We are delighted to have won this award,” says Douglas Stafford’s Operations Director Ben Sargeant. “It’s great to be recognised in this way – and it’s a real tribute to the hard-working team here.

“It is really satisfying to know that the services we offer like mystery shopping, research, training and schemes run by our customer contact centre which help businesses to connect and reconnect to past and present customers are so invaluable to our clients.”

Fun on the water – whatever the weather

Blue skies and sunshine greeted a team of area aftersales managers from Audi UK as they set sail aboard Douglas Stafford’s company yacht Lady Diane recently on one of the company’s regular corporate days.

The group were joined by Douglas Stafford’s Operations Director Ben Sargeant and Field Operations Assistant Neil Williams. “We were very lucky with the weather on the first day,” says Neil. “We arrived at Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth to blue skies and bright sunshine and it was like that all day.

“We sailed over to the Isle of Wight and everyone took turns at the helm and got involved in hauling sails, all under the watchful eye of skipper Lee Williams It was all very hands on but there was still plenty of times to relax in the sunshine and enjoy a leisurely lunch.”

The following day it was the turn of a different group of Audi area managers to sail on Lady Diane but they encountered very different weather conditions. “Unfortunately the weather on the second day failed to match the glorious sunshine of the day before,” says Neil.

“The two days couldn’t have been more of a contrast from a weather point of view but everyone still had a great time despite the somewhat relentless wind and occasion drizzle. In sailing terms, conditions like that are exhilarating!”
