Electronics company Maplin will invest £2m in its stores
By Hannah Cook
Electronics specialist company, Maplin, is set to spend £2 million revamping it’s UK retail outlets.
The overhaul is initially taking place in four of the Maplin stores, which will then lead to all of the retailer’s 204 stores being updated by July.
In a bid to maintain the company’s improving sales trend, the work will include improved store navigation, lighting, and merchandising, as well as more video demonstrations on screens in store.
Maplin’s information desks, which feature computer terminals and catalogues, are being put at the front of stores to allow shoppers to browse its full range online, while signage has been revamped throughout the trial stores in Maidenhead, Rotherham, Andover and Crewe.
