Apprenticeship schemes with Thomson and First Choice
By Hannah Cook
Thomson and First Choice are planning to offer 130 new apprenticeships within their businesses this year.
The posts will be available to candidates aged 16 and over, who will work full-time for the two TUI Travel-owned tour operators as well as studying for certified qualifications through City & Guilds.
In 2013, there were 175 apprenticeships and advanced apprenticeships completed and these numbers are set to grow in the next few years as vocational training interest continues to grow.
In total, more than 7,000 people have been trained through TUI Travel apprenticeship schemes over the last 25 years, with candidates recruited from schools, colleges and job centres.
As well as the certified qualifications, apprenticeships also include GCSE equivalents in maths and English, as well as offering personal learning and technical skills.
More information about the apprenticeships can be found here.
