A team member at Douglas Stafford with an artistic eye has scooped a global award for his impressive talents.
Paul Andrews, who works in the Video Editing department at Douglas Stafford’s Lakeside North Harbour head office in Portsmouth, entered the Montegrappa new DC Heroes & Villains Collection art contest in January.
Paul reached the final and was given a luxury Montegrappa pen worth $350. But after his artwork was selected as one of the winners he will now become the proud owner of a DC Heroes & Villains pen set worth more than $1,400, and have his original art professionally featured by Montegrappa.
Eight pieces of artwork were chosen to be in the final, before being put on the Montegrappa Facebook page for people to rate. The two drawings which received the most ‘likes’ were named as the winners.
Paul, who has worked at Douglas Stafford for five years, said: “I am absolutely over the moon! There were some great submissions for this contest, so for my illustration to have received as many votes as it did was quite overwhelming.
“I must say thanks to everyone that voted for my submission, or even simply took an interest in the contest. To know my artwork has now been seen by a much broader audience, on a global scale, is really fantastic and incredibly rewarding.
“I have received more attention for my artwork thanks to this contest and I have had some very promising leads get in touch with me in the last week, which will hopefully lead to some exciting opportunities. I have even just had the co-director of The LEGO Movie and Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs start following me on Twitter!”
