Douglas Stafford prepares Lady Diane for a series of corporate summer sailing days

With the harsh winter now a distant memory and temperatures starting to creep up, preparations are underway for a series of Douglas Stafford summer sailing days.

But before the corporate days take place on Lady Diane – a luxury 40ft Beneteau sailing yacht – many checks have to be done to make sure the boat is ready for action.

Lady Diane has been out of the water recently, being cleaned, polished and primed for a series of corporate sailing days.

Along with the cleaning, polishing and waxing of the hull and deck, a series of engine, oil and battery inspections are also made.

The team at Haslar Marina – where Lady Diane berths – also checks all lifejackets, examines the fuel and oil systems, checks the rudder, shaft and anchor, tests the horn and VHF Radio and inspects all buoyancy aids.

Throughout the summer months, Douglas Stafford offers a number of team building and reward recognition programmes as well as corporate entertainment on board Lady Diane, which is managed by a yacht charter company and uses a professionally qualified skipper and crew.

Groups set sail from Haslar Marina and head out into The Solent, before stopping in Cowes on the Isle of Wight for lunch.

During the afternoon sailing sessions, guests have the opportunity to take a turn at the helm and be involved in raising and lowering the sails – but still have plenty of time to sit back and relax on deck.
