Douglas Stafford HR Manager takes part in Bournemouth cycling event

A team member from Douglas Stafford joined more than 1,200 cyclists to take part in the Wiggle Bournemouth Sportive event.

 

Julie Worthington – HR Manager at the mystery shopping company – completed a gruelling 75-mile cycle around Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire.

 

The route balanced quiet roads, sublime scenery and the challenge of the three quality climbs of Win Green, Bulbarrow and Milton Abbas.

 

Julie took part in the event with four friends and completed the route in an impressive 4 hours and 48 minutes, receiving a Gold Award.

 

It was the first time Julie, who has been working at Douglas Stafford for 22 years, had taken part, but plans to do it again next year.

 

She said: “The weather was perfect and the route wasn’t too hilly, just a couple of big climbs, but it is always tough going towards the end.

 

“I don’t tend to train for cycling events as such. I am generally inside the gym most days doing spinning and other classes, but try to go out once at the weekend on a longer ride if the weather is good.”

 

“It is the first time that I have taken part in this particular event, but have done a few other Wiggle events in other locations. I would definitely do this one again though.”
