France’s top attraction recently unveiled the glass floor as part of a £24m refit that allows visitors to feel as if they are walking on air hundreds of feet above the ground.

Visitors can experience walking on air high above the City of Lights or take a dizzying selfie photo with the ground below as a stunning backdrop. And to make things even scarier, the glass safety barriers around the edge incline outward.

Inaugurated by Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo, the first-floor refit also includes new solar panels and the opening of a museum where the history of the tower will be displayed on seven screens, to enhance the experience for customers.

Around seven million people visit the 1,060-ft tower site every year – 75 per cent traveling from overseas.

Other attractions around the world with daredevil glass floors, include The Walk of Faith on Tianmen Mountain, China, the Grand Canyon Skywalk built into cliffs, a glass box installed off the side of Chamonix Peak in the French Alps, and Portsmouth’s very own Spinnaker Tower which has a glass floor 100 metres above sea level.
