Telephone Mystery Shopper role enhances Douglas Stafford team member’s acting skills
By Jamie White – Head of Communications
The opportunity to enhance his acting skills was a key reason for Paul Jaques to join mystery shopping and performance improvement company, Douglas Stafford as a Telephone Mystery Shopper.

Paul joined Douglas Stafford in 2011, and away from his work at the company’s head office at Lakeside North Harbour, Portsmouth, he is a professional actor.
Paul has played roles in many films – mainly as a villain – a part which he takes on again in his latest movie Soho, which is due for release later this year.
Paul said: “It was great to do Telephone Mystery Shopping because you have to fit a profile and play a certain role. It meant I could take on a different identity each time and tailor the ‘characters’ accordingly.
“In many ways, you have to approach mystery shopping in the same way as a film role. You need to remember the script and make sure what you are saying and the way you are saying it is completely believable. If you don’t believe what you are doing, then you can’t expect other people to.”
From his role as a Telephone Mystery Shopper, Paul, who has been acting for ten years, moved across to the Lead Department, dealing with online mystery shopping to enhance his skillset further.

Film Director, Martin. J. Thomas, who has worked with Paul for around seven years, said: “I knew straight away how good Paul was. He is an excellent actor and has a strong presence on set. He adapts himself effortlessly to whatever character he is playing.”
Mystery shopping and performance improvement company, Douglas Stafford, provides a range of bespoke Telephone Mystery Shopping, Email Mystery Shopping, Report-Based Mystery Shopping and Video Mystery Shopping programmes to clients in a variety of industries across the UK.
