The son of Victoria and David Beckham, Romeo Beckham, is playing a leading role in Burberry’s Christmas campaign.
The 12-year old child actor assumes the role of cupid around the streets of London, delivering the gift of love to a young couple, played by model and dancers Hannah Dodds and Anders Hayward.
In the advert, entitled ‘From London with Love’, Romeo dons Burberry’s trademark check, by way of a scarf, umbrella and trench coat, before dancing around the streets to dish out the love bug.
Christopher Bailey, Burberry CEO and Chief Creative Officer described the advert as: “A celebration of everything we love at Burberry; the trench coat, the cashmere scarf, incredible music, our British weather, and working with great and talented people.
“It continues to be an utter joy working with Romeo. He has charm, style and great energy! I’m delighted that he’s the lead role in our festive campaign.”
The dance element of the story is conveyed by female dancers in tiered dresses made from tulle and topped with trench capelets, and dapper gentlemen swinging newspapers, bags and umbrellas.
Romeo also featured in a Burberry campaign two years ago alongside Cara Delevingne, when he was aged just 10 years old.
Among those to attend the short film’s premiere at Burberry’s flagship Regent Street store in London alongside Romeo, were proud parents Victoria and David Beckham, along with other close family members.
The advert’s soundtrack was created especially by Ed Harcourt and is titled The Way That I Live .
