Sportswear giant Adidas has unveiled two pairs of trainers inspired by NASA.

Designed by Christian Dior Creative Director Raf Simons, the shoes are based on two pre-existing Adidas shoes – Ozweego and Response Trail.

The German firm enlisted Raf Simons to design its Autumn/Winter 2015 menswear collection in Paris featuring moonboots – the ‘Ozweego Robot’ and the ‘Response Trail Robot’.

In a statement, Adidas, said the trainers were: “Inspired by vintage astronaut suits and backpacks, moulded and machined details similar to authentic closures, zippers and straps are added. Shiny versus matte distressed materials complete the look of outer space.”

The trainers are set to be released this summer.
