This year’s event has the strongest representation of electric vehicle technology in the show’s history with fleet decision makers given the opportunity to evaluate and test drive models from a vast array of EVs.

One highlight for visitors is the Mitsubishi i-MiEV which is being driven by EV specialist, Brian Orr, Director of the EV Matters consultancy, in the 2,500 mile Highland Charge.

The Charge, which is raising money for the Help the Heroes charity, begins in Wokingham and goes around the UK via Inverness, before ending back in Wokingham. The nationwide event is intended demonstrate the feasibility of covering more than 2,500 miles around the UK completely on renewable energy.

The Fleet Show 2014 – organised by Fleet World magazine – is the chance to test drive a wide range of new cars and vans on a number of different race track scenarios.

The day is also an opportunity for Douglas Stafford team members – Head of Communications Jamie White and Client Relationship Director Jason Jeggo – to meet and engage with valued clients in the automotive industry.

Along with the electric vehicles, there is also an abundance of conventionally powered vehicles to evaluate. This year organisers have split the Grand Prix circuit in two, using the National circuit for faster laps, and the International Circuit for road speed drives. For those wishing to test drive one of the many 4x4s available and gauge their suitability for their fleets, the Silverstone off-road circuit has been included for the first time.

Mystery shopping and performance improvement company, Douglas Stafford, works with more than 80 per cent of manufacturers in the automotive industry, providing a range of mystery shopping and customer experience programmes to include telephone mystery shopping, electronic mystery shopping, report based mystery shopping and video mystery shopping.
